Job Summary
Are you an pharmacy technician or awaiting registration following completion of the course? We are looking to recruit into our vacant band 4 technician post.
Current students (PTPT) are also encouraged to apply if looking to complete the course in the near future. If successful, those awaiting registration will be initially appointed as a band 3 with progression to a band 4 once registered with the GPhC as a pharmacy technician.
As with other posts in a small department the role is varied and constantly evolving to meet the needs of the service. You will be working clinically on the wards as well as supporting the dispensary and other pharmacy services.
Main duties of the job
Main duties for the post holder include
- Dispensing activities including final accuracy checks of pharmacist clinically screened prescriptions (ACT once qualified).
- Provide ward-based medicines optimisation services.
- Supervise designated members of staff.
- Assist with the maintenance of the Trust’s formulary and high cost drugs recharges.
- Act as Practice or Educational Supervisor (as required) for designated pharmacy staff .
- Assist with medicines procurement.
- Assist with the pharmacy stores and distribution services.
Currently there are no weekend duties, but may be expected to provide some bank holiday cover. You may also be expected to work some weekends or late nights in the future.
