Joiner/Carpenter: Sponsorship Available

We are seeking a skilled Joiner/Carpenter to join our team. As a Joiner/Carpenter, you will be responsible for measuring, cutting, and shaping various materials to construct and install wooden structures, such as doors, windows, cabinets, and furniture. In addition, you will be required to install hardware and fittings, repair or replace damaged structures, and collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects. The ideal candidate should possess a strong knowledge of woodworking techniques and materials, be proficient in using hand and power tools, and demonstrate attention to detail and precision in all tasks.

Duties:

  • Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials according to specifications.
  • Assemble and install wooden structures such as doors, windows, cabinets, and furniture.
  • Fabricate and install cabinets, furniture, and other wooden structures.
  • Install hardware and fittings such as hinges, handles, and locks.
  • Proficient in building frameworks and shuttering on the construction site.
  • Install doors, windows, roofs, and other structural components.
  • Measure, mark, and plumb materials to ensure accurate assembly.
  • Repair or replace damaged or worn-out wooden structures.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople such as plumbers, masons, painters, and electricians to complete projects.
  • Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area.

Skills:

  • Proficient in using hand and power tools for cutting, shaping, and assembling materials.
  • Knowledge of different types of wood and their properties.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Attention to detail and precision in measurements and installations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues during construction or repairs.
  • Physical stamina for heavy lifting and working in various weather conditions.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Joiner/Carpenter.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational school or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and regulations.
