Holmside Care Home is dedicated to providing exceptional care for residents with learning disabilities. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for our residents, supporting their individual needs, and promoting their independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
- Support: Provide emotional and social support to residents, promoting their mental and emotional well-being.
- Activities: Help plan and participate in activities and outings to promote engagement and social interaction.
- Health Monitoring: Monitor and report any changes in residents’ health and well-being to senior staff.
- Meal Assistance: Assist residents with eating and drinking, ensuring their dietary needs are met.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any incidents or concerns promptly.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other care staff to ensure a high standard of care is maintained.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: Previous experience in a care role, preferably with individuals with learning disabilities.
- Education: Relevant qualifications in health and social care (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) are desirable.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, and a caring nature.
- Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
- Compliance: Understanding of and adherence to health and safety guidelines, safeguarding policies, and care regulations.
