Job summary

Join our expanding Radiology Nursing team as a Health Care Assistant in the newly created Radiology Day Case Unit.

If you are passionate about making a difference to patients lives, in an environment that is fast paced, working closely with a dynamic team as a Health Care Assistant, specialising in pre and post care for patients undergoing lung biopsies as part of the Targeted Lung Health Check Programme led by GM Cancer, then we want to hear from you!

We pride ourselves on delivering excellent patient care, as a vital member of our team, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the comfort, safety and well-being of our patients undergoing interventional procedures.

Main duties of the Health Care Assistant job

The main duties of this role are as follows, but not limited to:

  • Provide compassionate and personalised care to patients before, during and after radiological procedures, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Assist in the admission and discharge process.
  • Perform cannulation and venepuncture.
  • Carry out clinical observations, accurately document and report any abnormalities to the nurse in charge.
  • Assist in supporting patients with activities of daily living during the recovery period.

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 in Healthcare
  • Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English and Maths Grade D-G)
  • Care Certificate

Knowledge and Training

  • Experience of working in a health care setting
