Job Summary
The Informatics Department in the North East Ambulance Service has a vacancy for a Developer to further develop the Trust’s business intelligence, in-house built software and PowerPlatform solutions.
You will have the opportunity to further develop your skills in data warehousing, Power Platform such as PowerApps, PowerAutomate and PowerBi as well as a variety of in-house built software solutions. You will assist with the design, construction, delivery, and support of new and existing processes under the guidance of the development manager and senior colleagues. You will have experience with data warehouse-based data or database design and be comfortable with modern development techniques such as agile and CI/CD.
Main duties of the job
You will be tasked with providing support for various PowerPlatform solutions, a keen willingness to learn on the job would be required. The PowerPlatform is a new technology which the trust is aiming to make strides in, so training and development will be provided.
Parts of the job may also require providing support to software developers to develop and maintain in house software, so experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and traditional client / server application using ASP.NET / MVC would also be beneficial.
This role allows for development to be tailored depending on trust needs, you will mainly provide support for the Data Warehouse but will have exposure to various areas the Informatics Department covers.
You will produce software to specification including the synthesis of requirements, design, testing and roll out to enable the implementation of new systems and reporting throughout the trust. You will be a point of technical escalation for development queries and particularly be responsible for ensuring that any requests via our Service Desk software and carried out in a timely and effective manner.
The right candidate will have excellent web development skills on both the client and server. You will also have good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate technical, complex ideas in non-technical terms.
