About the Role
The role of a Care Worker is to provide support to individuals who are vulnerable such as elderly group, mental health, learning disabilities or injuries who live in their own homes or supported living units to ensure their needs are catered for and empower positivity and growth.
Care worker you will have excellent communication skills; the ability to build a positive rapport with Service User you support with challenging behaviours and needs; and an understanding of how to help them to develop the skills and confidence to live independently.
Main Responsibilities:
· Support clients to develop resilience and build mental, physical, emotional, and social well-being in a safe, caring and nurturing environment.
· Support to prepare and serve food, assists some service users in feeding and prepares snacks and hot drinks.
· Encourage clients to participate in social and recreational activities.
· Assists service users in washing, dressing, toiletry activities and general mobility.
· Support the clients with changing bed linen, makes bed, prepare breakfast tidy the environment the service user lives in.
· Support shopping tasks and general household activities such as meal preparation, laundry and keeping the home tidy to encourage the participation of Service User in these tasks to help prepare them for independent living.
· Observe, monitor and record clients’ physical and emotional well-being, and promptly report any changes to senior staff.
· Support the service user in their own homes or supported living units.
· Communicate effectively with social workers and all other relevant professionals if needs be when supporting the service users.
· To carry out regular health and safety checks in the environment the service user lives.
· Assist with the safe lifting, transferring, repositioning, and movement of clients.
You will also be able to demonstrate the following qualities and experience:
· Excellent knowledge of safeguarding in relation to Service User.
· Relevant experience of working with vulnerable individuals in a housing, care services, community development or related field is desirable.
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Good written communication skills for effective correspondence, report writing and statistical work.
· Excellent verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work effectively within a team structure.
· Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures.
· Being a driver is mandatory required to provide driving licence (International accepted).Within a year need to have secured full UK driving license as part of your sponsorship requirement.
· Knowledge of English Language minimum Level B1 in listening, reading, writing and speaking
· Fully funded off- and on-the-job training and career development opportunities regardless level of experience in social care.
· Sponsorship available for those with overseas Nursing Auxiliaries and Assistants experiences and qualifications.
